GivingTuesday 2023

Updated January 2024
Because of the remarkable generosity of our parish, we were able to raise over $74,000 for the purchase of a new sound system for the sanctuary! Included in that total is $3,500 in Challenge Grants that we were awarded by the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan. Thank you for making this possible for our parish!

On Tuesday, November 28, the world embarks on it’s 11th year of #GivingTuesday. Created in 2012 as a simple idea to encourage people to do good, it has grown into a global generosity “movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world.” Giving back is something that each of you does on a daily basis as Catholic Christians, and for that we are always grateful. Last year, your generosity helped raise over $52,000 for the building of a new playground!

While not as shiny of a project this year, this year’s ask has an even greater impact on our Holy Spirit Community: a new sound system for the sanctuary of the church. The current system is about to turn 30 years old, and the usual life span of a system like this is 25 years. Needless to say, we are on borrowed time and we would like to be proactive in having the funds ready when the time comes to replace it.

Our goal this #GivingTuesday is to raise $67,630 for the purchase of a new sound system, and have 100% participation to make it happen. Will you help us ensure that we can fully hear the holy moments that impact our lives within the church? Please prayerfully consider making a gift during the 24-hour period on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. The Diocese is kindly covering all processing fees, which means 100% of your gift goes directly to the purchase of a new sound system.
