We Remember ~ January 11, 2013

We remember four amazing people who died five years ago on January 11, 2013, in an auto accident while on a mission trip to Haiti:

  • Mary LaPonsie
  • Matt Kutsche
  • Jim Cwengros
  • Rita Cwengros

Following is a reflection Mary wrote after one of her many medical missions to Haiti:

“As always – mixed feelings as we prepare to leave. I miss my family at home, my own bed, and warm showers. As I board the plane in Port au Prince, Haiti will be tugging on my heart. Once again, I feel as if I’m leaving a million of my own children behind. Gratefully, several have been left in better shape than when we arrived. Amazing! Incredible trip!”
Mary LaPonsie, January 2012
