Dear Families and Friends of Holy Spirit Parish,
On this feast of Christmas, we gather with Christians all over the world to celebrate the birth of Christ, Savior of the World. As this familiar story of our Lord’s birth is proclaimed once again, our astonishment of this life-changing event should not be diminished. God has rightly, fully chosen to manifest the depth of His love for us in the Christ child.
Whether you are coming to Holy Spirit for the first time, or visit us regularly, you are most welcome. If you are visiting our parish for the first time, we are happy that you are here, and hope that you will come back to celebrate with us again in the coming year. If you have been away from the Church for some time, we would love to have you come back and join us; everyone is welcome.
As I celebrate my second Christmas as your pastor, I would like to express my joy and happiness about being assigned at Holy Spirit Parish.
On behalf of the entire parish staff, I would like to extend to you and your loved ones our prayers and best wishes for a blessed and joyous Christmas season and a Happy New Year!
The Holy Spirit Knights General Council Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. These meetings will now be held in the Multipurpose Room at 7:00pm. The next meeting will be hosted on November 11th. If you would like more information on joining the Knights of Columbus, feel free to visit their table at the ministry fair or please reach out to David Buczkowski at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
As many of you know, the Catholic Church has two beautiful and important holy days approaching very quickly! One of them is a Holy Day of Obligation. We welcome all visitors from out of town or surrounding areas to join us in worship on these days! Mass times are as follows:
Friday, November 1st – All Saints Day (Holy Day of Obligation)
Saturday, November 2nd – All Souls Day
The Holy Spirit Parish staff is delighted to announce that we will be hosting a ministry fair after each Mass during the weekend of October 26/27 this year! This is a GREAT opportunity to begin conversations among your fellow parishioners about the ministries we offer here year-round. We hope to see many of you there. If you have any questions regarding the format of this fair, please contact the parish office at 453-6369.
Here is our official 2019-2020 Evening of Worship schedule! Come join us – all are welcome! If you have any questions, please reach out to Joe Houdek, our music director, at email@example.com.
The Garden Angels are ending our season by cutting back perennials and pulling the annuals. We hope everyone enjoyed our beautiful gardens. We were blessed with a few new “angel” volunteers. Our last working Wednesday and year end party will be October 23. We will garden from 9:00am-11:00am with pizza and beverages after. Please join us, even for the first time, to see what this ministry is all about. If you have questions, call Linda at 826-3438.
Fr. Mark will be hosting a “Welcome Back from Summer” celebration in the rectory on Saturday, September 28 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. If you can’t make it, don’t worry; there will be other celebrations hosted in the rectory within the coming months! Hope to see many of you there!
